The Certified Coding Associate (CCA0 Certification is for entry-level coders. In the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) candidate handbook from AHIMA, it is suggested that the candidates have at least 6 months' experience applying ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding conventions and guidelines, or have completed either an AHIMA-approved coding certificate program or other formal coding training.
This examination review guide represents a renewed effort to provide materials for HIM students and professionals. In reviewing the results of past examinations, we found that it would be beneficial for examination candidates to have additional practice in answering multiple-choice questions. We have selected questions to cover the broad topic of categories necessary for sitting for the CCA Certification Examination. Researching the questions and cases as you study should increase your knowledge such that, when you encounter similar questions, you can arrive at the correct answer. We believe that the review material will jog your memory and build on information you have already gained through your education and professional experiences. This book provides you with a mix of coding questions to both increase your coding skills and provide you with testing that mimics the exam format.

This is the third order I have placed through Amazon for books. The shipments always arrive within the stated time and the product is in good or better condition than indicated if it is a used item. Also I like the fact that you are able to cancel an order within a certain period of time if needed. All products are shipped promptly and the discounts are great on shipping if you use this site often. This order was exactly what the description said it would be and the cost was less than through the health information site.

The PRG for CCA 2009 was a valuable tool to review and study for the CCA Exam. PRG covered all topic areas and provided references to other books (most of which I had) to read more about the question topic. The CD-ROM practice exams helped me pace my exam question response rate. I just completed an online medical coding training course so most of the topics were still fresh in my mind. The author should consider having a few more questions on medical records. I would recommend the PRG as a study guide to be used in conjunction with other medical coding course books or materials.

This book was horrible...It was very hard to understand and follow especially since I had recently finished my coding courses...This book in no way makes me confident to take my CCA...There has got to be something better than this...In my opinion this was a waste of my time and money...
